Ryan was baptized!

Ryan was baptized!! Super exciting and such a great experience! The
spirit was incredibly strong and he's super happy to be a member of
the church! From not believing in God to being baptized in 6 weeks.
It's truly incredible. It's been so amazing to be able to see his
testimony grow and the light of Christ enter into his life more fully!

This week I had the opportunity to be apart of 2 priesthood blessings
this week. The first was a 16 year old in my ward named Darren. He was
playing volleyball and came down on his ankle wrong. His mom brought
him into the hall and out of all the priesthood holders there he asked
me to give him a blessing. It was an amazing experience. He was able
to go to baseball practice the next day without a problem. The second
was a lady who is having a baby on Tuesday. She was nervous about the
whole situation and asked her husband to give her a blessing. She then
asked us to join as well. It was also an amazing experience.

Random inspiration came to me this week. We were out biking and I felt
the need to go visit a lady we had met a few weeks before. She told us
she wasn't interested in the church but I felt a strong need to go
visit her. Just before we pulled into her apartment complex, we saw a
man in a power wheel chair tip over. He fell and hit the ground hard.
We dropped our bikes and ran over to him. He was shaken and very
scared. We were able to pick him and his chair up. We then made sure
he was okay and then he sped off. The lady ended up not even being
home, but if we hadn't gone down there then no one would've seen this
man tip over. God works in mysterious ways but he definitely loves and
cares for all of his children.

Well I love all of you and hope you have a great week. Read your
scriptures and say your prayers. Heavenly Father is there and loves
and cares for each of you, I promise!

A new companion

Elder Race Peterson is my new companion! He's a goofy kid from Troy Michigan. I love him already! He's fresh out of the MTC and ready to work. His second day out we put one of our investigators on date to be baptized February 28th! So that'll be 2 baptisms 2 weeks in a row! Safe to say exciting things are happening in Deer Valley!

We did service for a pregnant lady and her wife who has back problems. We pulled weeds that had been growing for at least 3 years. There yard was disgusting. They had 4 dogs that they have never cleaned up after. We spend 3 hours cleaning up and pulling weeds. It was a good way to initiate the new guy ;)

Today we went and got our eyebrows waxed. It was definitely an interesting experience, and now we're pretty! Sister Nelson did it for us because she's the best. So that was initiation part 2 for the new guy ;)

Elder Burbank is now in Anthem, which is just 20 minutes north of Deer Valley. He's still in my stake and zone. So I'll still see him a few times a month. Which will be nice!

I gave my first baptismal interview as a district leader. I was able to interview an investigator for the YSA ward sisters who are in my district. It went well and she is going to be baptized on Saturday!

I love you all and hope you have a great week!

The end of another transfer

The end of another transfer has come. Only now Elder Burbank is leaving. I'm taking over the area, becoming senior companion, district leader, and I'm training a new missionary. I'm honestly super excited!

This week has been a great one! One of our investigators is on date to be baptized on the 21st of February! He went from not believing in God to accepting to be baptized in 5 weeks! He's made incredible progress and I'm so happy for him and his family. His wife is a member. Now they'll have the opportunity to become an eternal family! I just love the gospel and the universal happiness it can bring to anyone's life!

We were able to change the oil of a car this week. Which means normal clothes and working on a car. Both very enjoyable things! I'm very thankful that I had a father who loved me enough to teach me how to be self reliant and taught me how to change oil in vehicles. Now I'm able to use it to bless the lives of others, and I'm sure it'll come in handy for myself one day.

Clear eyes, full hearts, can't lose!

Love you all! Have a great week!

Bloggggg

Great week!

We had a Meet the Mormons night at the church. We got a large
projector screen and played the movie. It was awesome! Not as great of
a turn out as we would`ve like, especially with the non members that
we invited, but still a fun activity!

I got my hair cut this week for the second time on my mission! The
Rose Garden Ward Elders have a hair stylist in their ward that offered
to cut our hair, so we took her up on that offer. It was a lot better
than when Elder Farnsworth cut my hair haha.

We got to stay in on super bowl sunday. Our mission president didn`t
want us being disobedient and watching the game so he just took away
the temptation. Which is probably for the best. I was thusly informed
who won so don`t worry.
A lot of people went to the tail gating stuff down town so it was very
quiet around here. The stadium is about 20 minutes from our apartment
so it was just far enough away to not hear anything but close enough
that everyone went there.

Obedience is key to everything. With every rule comes a blessing for
keeping it. The pros DEFINITELY out way the cons of living the
standards of the church in all situations.

I love you all!
